According to L’Équipe, it is looking increasingly possible that Romain Faivre’s (25) loan spell at FC Lorient could be cut short before the closure of the transfer window.
After a positive loan spell at Lorient last season, Les Merlus found themselves in a position where they couldn’t necessarily afford to make the Frenchman’s move from Olympique Lyonnais permanent. As a result, the club’s owner, who also owns Bournemouth, decided to sign the AS Monaco academy product for the Premier League club, before loaning him back to Lorient.
Faivre excelled in the first half of the season, despite Les Merlus’ difficulties, scoring five goals in 17 matches. However, according to L’Équipe, Faivre’s relationship with manager Régis Le Bris has deteriorated in recent weeks, and a return to parent club Bournemouth is now a very real possibility. The Frenchman, whose contract with the Cherries runs until 2028, would leave Lorient bottom of the table in Ligue 1, however, no final decision has yet been made.
