Alessio Romagnoli covered the third most distance for Lazio in their season opening win against Bologna, helping dispel any initial injury concerns.

The 27-year-old Italian centre back missed large parts of his last season with Milan due to adductor problems. His issues stem from a chronic groin injury known as a pubalgia, which causes an imbalance of the adductor and abdominal muscles, leading to pain.

Romagnoli did not take part in the pre-season friendly against Dekani due to this, causing some anxiety in the Lazio environment.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Romagnoli covered the third most distance for Lazio in their 2-1 win over Bologna, travelling 10.75km across the pitch. Ahead of him were defender Patric, who ran 11.005km, and talisman Ciro Immobile, who covered 11.32km.

This is an incredibly positive sign, suggesting that Romagnoli is no longer too mentally affected by the pubalgia, which had bothered him a lot over the last few years with Milan.

On Tuesday, after a light individual workout, the 27-year-old Italian centre back immediately return to squad training, making himself available to Maurizio Sarri again.
