Roma return to European play on Thursday evening for round three of the Europa League group stage. The Giallorossi host Group C leaders Real Betis at the Stadio Olimpico, aiming to hand the Spanish side their first dropped points of the competition.

The two teams enter the clash after completely opposite league performances and results from this past weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s men earned a huge league victory over Inter at the San Siro on Saturday while Real Betis were defeated 1-0 by Celta Vigo.

“Tomorrow is going to be tough. We’re facing a quality side with a clear identity and an experienced manager,” explained Jose Mourinho during his pre-match press conference.

“They have their own unique philosophy and it’s clear in the way they play. This is a team that has won things even though they’re not one of the top teams in Spain.”

He continued, “It’s a difficult game but it will be for them too. It’s going to be 11 v. 11 in a stadium with 60,000 plus supporters. We hope the fans do their part tomorrow because the supporters in Betis always play a huge part and they definitely will next week.”

“But I trust the eleven guys I’ll have on the pitch and the players on the bench. I also especially trust the over 60,000 supporters that we’ll have in the stadium.”

The two veteran managers aren’t expected to make any surprises to their formations. Mourinho revealed Paulo Dybala will play tomorrow evening while captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is a question mark.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini will be without top-man Nabil Fekir.

Kick-off is slated for 21.00 CET in Rome.
