Roma are set to address the matter of Eldor Shomurodov’s future before the end of the summer.

The Uzbek striker, under contract with Roma until 2026, is not part of Daniele De Rossi’s plans, who has given the green light for his transfer.

The last season on loan at Cagliari was not a positive one for the former Genoa player, scoring just 3 goals in 22 league games.

Now, Roma’s new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is working to find him a new destination.

One thing that is certain is that, at the moment, Shomurodov will not return to Roma, writes Corriere dello Sport.

The footballer will participate in the Olympics with Uzbekistan, which will be held in Paris from July 24 to August 10.

Shomurodov’s future will then be settled upon his return from the Olympics.

Three years ago, Roma bought him from Genoa for around 17.5 million euros, with an annual salary of around 2 million euros.

Roma aims to sell him to save around 5 million euros in gross wages until the deadline in June 2026.
