La Liga outfit Villarreal have this week received a big-money transfer offer for a leading member of the club’s attacking ranks.
The player in question? Alexander Sørloth.
Frontman Sørloth, for his part, is fresh off a stellar campaign at La Cerámica.
All told, across 40 appearances in all competitions, the Norwegian international racked up a head-turning 26 goals, and six assists.
In La Liga alone, Sørloth managed to find the net on 23 occasions, pipped to the Pichichi prize on the final day by Girona’s Artem Dovbyk.
And such production, evidently, did not go at all unappreciated in Serie A…
As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto, AS Roma this week tabled a fresh bid for Sørloth, worth a considerable €30 million.
The proposal was rejected by the Villarreal brass, who are continuing to ask for more to part with their star goalscorer.
Negotiations between the parties are ongoing.
