Roma’s search for a new striker has ended with the acquisition of LaLiga’s reigning top goalscorer Artem Dovbyk.
The 27-year-old scooped the Spanish top flight’s Pichichi award last season for finishing the campaign with 24 goals in 36 games for Girona, in addition to eight assists.
But he has now made the move to the Italian capital in a deal worth €33m plus bonuses, while Girona will also net 10% of any future sell-on fee.
The Ukraine international has signed a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico and spurned serious interest from Atlético de Madrid to join the Giallorossi.
It brings an end to Roma’s lengthy summer pursuit of a new striker with Romelu Lukaku, Alexander Sørloth, Youssef En-Nesyri and Arnaud Kalimuendo all having been linked throughout the summer.
