Roma are reportedly eyeing Watford midfielder Ismael Kone as one of their top targets for the summer.

The capital club will look to reinforce their midfield ahead of next season.

Head coach Daniele De Rossi was very specific in his criticism of the current midfield options which lack a proper box-to-box midfielder with goal-scoring ability and technique.

As a result, Roma have prioritized a player of such profile in their on-going preparations for the summer transfer window.

The latest name to be linked with Roma is that of Watford’s Ismael Kone.

The 21-year-old has been reportedly proposed to Roma in a recent round of talks centered around another Canadian target for the Giallorossi, namely Jonathan David of Lille.

According to Corriere dello Sport, David’s entourage happen to represent Kone as well.

This has sparked new discussions revolving around Kone as a potential option for De Rossi’s squad.

Kone is coming an impressive season with Watford, having collected 4 goals and 3 assists in 42 appearances in the Championship.

Roma are said to be particularly intrigued by Kone and will continue to monitor him.
