Roma have decided to halt negotiations with Las Palmas for the transfer of Mika Marmol.
Initially, the 23-year-old was identified as the top replacement for Mario Hermoso following the ex-Atletico Madrid man’s move to Bayer Leverkusen.
However, talks with Las Palmas proved complicated.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, the Giallorossi decided to abandon their pursuit of Marmol after three meetings with Las Palmas.
The discussions led nowhere and forced Roma to turn to Empoli for Saba Goglichidze who is now very close to a transfer to the capital.
In the meantime, Di Marzio adds that Roma will in all likelihood resume contact with Marmol in the summer.
