Serie A side Roma is reportedly negotiating with relegated Premier League side Leeds United for the permanent transfer of defender Diego Llorente.
According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Diego Llorente has made a positive impact in the minds of the Roma coaching staff and they are working with the player’s parent club Leeds United for a permanent deal.
The former Real Madrid man arrived in Rome during the winter transfer window on a season-long loan deal but could only manage 12 appearances before getting injured.
Following the relegation of Leeds United to the Championship, most of their players are set to leave the club and due to his association with the Giallorossi for six months, Roma will have grounds to negotiate and keep Llorente in the Italian capital.
More details are set to emerge in the next few days as Jose Mourinho is adamant about keeping the centre-back for the new season.
