Serie A giants Roma are now making quick progress in a move for Jadon Sancho and there is a preliminary agreement with Manchester United already.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Red Devils have agreed to sell the player for a package worth €23 million in bonuses included in the loan-with-an-obligation-to-buy formula. This happened after Roma accelerated their move late last night.
Now, an agreement with Sancho is pending. He is interested in the move but it is all about the wages now.
Roma have put forward a contract which is a five-year deal worth €4.5 million net, plus bonuses. This offer appears to have convinced Sancho, although the details regarding the bonuses, which would allow the player to become the highest-paid player in the squad after Dybala, will need to be ironed out in the coming hours.
These terms are easy to achieve, bringing the salary closer to the €6 million initially requested by the Englishman.
Club sporting director Ricky Massara is also speaking to Aston Villa for Leon Bailey. In this case, the final issue to be ironed out concerns the buy-out option. Roma, in fact, are intent on another Evan Ferguson-style deal – a loan deal with a conditional buyout. Optimism is also palpable in Trigoria now about completing both the deals.
