After an incredible weekend in which the Giallorossi academy graduate found the back of the net with a rip-roaring header to seal the game winner and complete the come-back against Venezia, Roma rising star Niccolo Pisilli is on the verge of a potential debut with the Italian national team.

So far this season, the 19-year-old central play-maker has truly seized and capitalized on every opportunity he was given to prove himself on the pitch , consistently displaying a great deal of maturity and constantly injecting creativity and energy within Ivan Juric’s side.

Following an emotional weekend in which the home-grown player lived his childhood dream, scoring his first goal for the Giallorossi after having come off the bench in the 58th minute to help the capital club attain three vital points within the latter stages of the game, Italy coach Luciano Spalletti senses that Pisilli is prepared to the next step.

While speaking to the media ahead of the upcoming International window, as relayed by Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Napoli boss confirmed that Niccolo Pisilli will be selected within his preliminary squad alongside rising prospect Daniele Maldini.

“Young Italians can have an important future, Pisilli and Maldini are among those pre-selected and we are pleased that there are new forces that can aspire to give a contribution and a hand to the difficulties we will have in putting things right after the ‘European, stated Spalletti”
