Roma are back on Lorenz Assignon’s tracks after a few weeks of calm.
The Giallorossi are focused on securing an additional fullback for Daniele De Rossi and Assignon’s name is currently on top of the capital club’s shortlist.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, after showing interest in the 24-year-old right-back, Roma submitted their first official bid.
In their proposal, Roma asked for Assignon on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
Assignon’s parent club, Rennes, however, would like to make the player’s exit permanent following his recent loan at Burnley.
Today’s offer (9 August) was formulated verbally and will be presented in writing tomorrow. However, Roma’s important step has been completed, with the first official move for Assignon.
To convince Rennes, however, the Giallorossi will therefore have to change the conditions.
As confirmed by Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, Rennes’ asking price is set at €12 million (€10 million in fixed fee plus €2 million in add-ons).
