Roma have scored with regularity in recent matches thanks to the sound performances of Paulo Dybala, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Artem Dovbyk. Still, their execs would like to add more depth behind the starters. They don’t have another pure no.9 in the squad.
According to Calciomercato, the Giallorossi seem to have moved on from Norberto Beto. Claudio Ranieri isn’t fully sold. The coach would rather sign somebody who could star next to the Ukrainian talisman and not only in lieu of him.
In that sense, Roma have shortlisted Arnaud Kalimuendo and Giacomo Raspadori. The former has a €20M valuation. He has tallied 8 goals in 16 matches with Rennes so far. The Napoli attacker was seemingly taken off the market after a recent goal, but he remains unhappy with his situation, Alfredo Pedullà relays.
He hasn’t openly asked out, but it could happen if his minutes don’t increase even with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on his way out. Antonio Conte softened his stance in recent days and could okay the departures of more discontent players.
Juventus were keen but will sign Randal Kolo Muani instead. Atalanta would come forward too if he was made available.
They have more issues on the other end now, as Dovbyk and Dybala have looked increasingly healthy and in synch. Still, they’ll be in trouble if one goes down. Raspadori would be able to deputize both but wouldn’t be cheap. Plus, it’d be a lateral move for him despite the lingering uncertainty about the future of La Joya.
