Roma were losers once more this evening, losing 3-1 to Torino in yet another league defeat.

The Giallorossi’s hopes in a top four finish in Serie A are all but dashed after the Granata dominated throughout the ninety minutes today.

It’s a sentiment that manager Paulo Fonseca echoed at full-time, admitting that his team’s chances of reaching the fourth spot are unlikely.

“The truth is that we played two days ago and turned the team over a lot,” he said to Sky Sport.

“We have an issue with a lack of defenders and fullbacks, there aren’t many options. Perhaps the team was more focused on the Europa League and didn’t manage to flip the switch to the league.”

He continued, “We opened the scoring and had opportunities to extend our lead and close the match, but we didn’t do it. Torino were better today and deserved to win.”

“As for the top four, I have to be honest…it’s extremely difficult now. There’s still a mathematical possibility, but it’s very difficult.”

“We lacked concentration today and made a lot of mistakes. It’s true that our league campaign has been very negative and I’ve got to assume my responsibilities in that. We made so many mistakes in the league this season,” he concluded.
