RomaPress – After an intense two weeks of negotiations, Roma and Juventus are on the verge of reaching a complete agreement for the transfer of Argentine playmaker Matias Soulé.

The two sides are still ironing out the last details related to bonuses, but the Giallorossi have agreed to pay Juve a fee worth €30 million in total for the player. The Bianconeri will also retain a resale percentage (10%) in the event of a future transfer.

Both clubs were eager to finalise an agreement after Soulé and his agent, Martin Guastadisegno, were adamant they’d only accept a transfer to the Italian capital after rejecting an offer from Leicester City last week.

The Foxes offered the Bianconeri nearly €35 million (including bonuses), however the 21 year-old insisted his only desire was to join Roma.

Despite the rejection, Juventus refused to lower their asking price, informing Roma they’d have to match or, at minimum, come close to Leicester’s offer to get a deal done.

Guastadisegno intervened and spent nearly all Wednesday mediating between the two clubs—pushing to get the deal over the finish line. He eventually convinced Juve to lower their request and accept €26 million plus €4-5 million in easily achievable bonuses.
