Roma are prepared to lose Mario Hermoso, who is on Fenerbahce and Real Madrid’s radar, and have set sights on Las Palmas’ Mika Marmol to replace him. His contract expires in 2026 and he has no intention to renew it, which has attracted a few suitors, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

In addition, the defender has an affordable €10M release clause. The Giallorossi’s initial offer should amount to €7M. They are open to acquiring him right away and leaving him on loan to the Spanish side if that allows them to save on the fee. In that scenario, they’d add somebody on loan to replenish their depth.

Roma will have to duel with Girona, Real Betis, and Como to snap up Marmol. Las Palmas have a vested interest in cashing in as much as possible. They owe 50 percent of the sum to Barcelona. He’s represented by the same agent as Oscar Mingueza, who plays at Celta Vigo and is in a similar situation. The Giallorossi have shortlisted him too.

The left-footed stands out for his technique and can fill in on the flank. After leaving La Masia, he played for a season at Andorra before joining the UD in 2023. He has 49 La Liga appearances under his belt.

Our Take on Roma and Marmol

Hermoso isn’t a starter and, if everybody stays healthy, they have a solid and well-assorted backline. So, they can afford to take a shot on a talented youngster. The competition for his services will be stiff given the favorable terms to sign him, though.
