Ahead of Roma‘s Serie A fixture against Atalanta, Paulo Dybala hurt the flexor muscle in his left leg. Jose Mourinho had to drop the plan of playing him in the match.

But despite carrying a knock, La Joya, thanks to his determination to play for his national side, ended up joining Argentina for their friendlies against Honduras and Jamaica.

On Saturday, Argentina played Honduras and beat them with a 3-0 scoreline. But the teamsheet did not feature the former Juventus man.

In the post-match press conference, Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni informed the media of Dybala’s situation as he said (as quoted by Pazzi Di Fanta):

“I decided not to risk Paulo. He serves me on a much higher level, and it would be a shame to risk him. I think he will be available for the next match.”

If Scaloni’s words are understood to be true, then Dybala should be fit for Argentina’s game against Jamaica. Inter host Roma in Serie A after the international break. La Joya should also be available for the game against the Nerazzurri unless the player’s injury worsens following the match on Wednesday.
