One of his main goals is to regain a place in the Dutch national team, with the ambition of participating in the next World Cup.

The full-back, who celebrates his 22nd birthday today, can’t wait to begin this new challenge with the Giallorossi, writes Corriere dello Sport.

As stated by Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, Rensch is a versatile player, capable of covering different roles: full-back, central defender and even fifth midfielder.

This tactical flexibility is one of the main reasons why Roma decided to focus on him, seeing him as a pawn who can guarantee continuity and quality to the team’s technical project.

The negotiations between Roma and Ajax are nearing their conclusion: the agreement was reached on the figure of 5 million euros, after a long negotiation that saw the two clubs meet their respective needs.

Ajax initially requested 7 million, while Roma’s first offer stopped at 3.6 million.

In the end, a middle ground was reached, with the closing of the deal that should arrive shortly.

Rensch’s contract with Roma will last until 2029, with a salary of around 1.2 million euros net per season.

In addition to the main operation, the two clubs are evaluating the possibility of including other players in the negotiations, such as the young Samuel Dahl, who could move to Ajax on loan. However, these possible movements seem destined to remain unrelated to the purchase of Rensch.
