SportWitness are doing a sweep of the weekend’s headlines, and they’ve dug up some rather interesting Chelsea content.

Tammy Abraham has had a good start to life in Rome after his summer move, and the 24 year old scored his first brace for the club this week.

Their season is going South though, and a thrashing by Inter this week has clearly stung them. They’re looking for scapegoats, and Tammy looks like he’s being targeted a little.

The Gazzetta dello Sport point out that while the striker “has everything” – strength, speed, technique, intelligence, he did also cost a lot.

€40m, plus €4m a year in wages, is a lot for Italy, even these days. They say he was a “backup at Chelsea” – which is true by the end of his time at Stamford Bridge, although many fans would say that was a mistake in itself.

Ultimately they did pay a lot by Serie A standards, but they’ve also got 8 goals out of 21 appearances from him this season, and if he continues putting them away, nobody will be complaining in a year or two.
