Roma's first pre-season under Gian Piero Gasperini is officially off and running.

Not only do the Serie A mainstays have a new head coach but they have also made their first two signings with Evan Ferguson and Neil El Aynaoui making the move.

Ferguson arrived on a season-long loan from Brighton while midfielder El Aynaoui joins from Lens on a permanent deal reportedly worth up to €25m overall.

As the Giallorossi step up preparations before Saturday's opening friendly against Kaiserslauten, both players joined training for the first time under Gasperini's watch.

After facing the 2.Bundesliga side, El Aynaoui is set for a swift reunion with Lens as his current and former employers do battle at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on 2 August.
