Chelsea winger Tyrique George is attracting interest from Serie A side AS Roma. They have asked for conditions to take the youngster from Stamford Bridge (Fabrizio Romano).

They have turned to the Chelsea ace after former Blues loanee Jadon Sancho stalled on a move to Italy.

Roma had reportedly made contact for George in July and are now back for the Cobham Academy graduate.

George enjoyed a breakout season at Chelsea last season. He bagged three goals and five assists in 26 appearances for the Blues, playing across the frontline.

The 19-year-old scored a crucial equaliser for Chelsea versus Fulham in the Premier League before the Blues claimed the win on April 20.

That goal, against the run of play, proved pivotal to stopping Chelsea’s wretched run.

Chelsea’s win over Fulham sparked a remarkable turnaround that culminated in winning the Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup.

However, George will struggle to get a look-in at Chelsea after they signed Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The West Londoners are plotting a move for Alejandro Garnacho.

They also have Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian in the ranks.

Chelsea are open to letting George leave, but it remains unclear whether any deal will be a permanent transfer or a loan exit.

RB Leipzig and other Premier League clubs are also interested in his services.

Chelsea must tread carefully if they sanction George’s departure.

The teenager showed glimpses of his quality last season and has the tools to evolve into a lethal attacking force, particularly in an environment like Roma, where he will get opportunities.

Roma have only the ageing Stephan Kareem El Shaarawy as a natural left-wing option, meaning George is likely to see consistent minutes to refine his game.

That development path makes it imperative for Chelsea to insert a buyback clause or, at the very least, a first-refusal option in any deal.

Allowing him to leave outright without such protections would be a strategic error, especially given his trajectory and potential resale value.
