Roma learned their next Europa League opponent this afternoon after they eliminated Braga yesterday evening 5-1 on aggregate.

The Giallorossi drew a familiar face in Shakhtar Donetsk, the former club of Roma boss Paulo Fonseca and attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Portuguese tactician managed the Ukrainian side for three seasons and won a total of seven trophies during his time with the club. He ultimately decided to leave when Roma offered him the opportunity to become their new manager in the summer of 2019.

The first leg will take place at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday 11 March, with the return scheduled for a week later.

Shakhtar, meanwhile, enter the competition after they finished third in their Champions League group – below Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach but above Inter.
