Jose Mourinho is looking to find a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and would like to sign Isco, who will leave Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.

As reported by Daniele Longo and Francesco Balzani, Roma are evaluating Jorge Mendes’ proposal regarding the transfer of Isco ahead of the summer transfer window. The Giallorossi are reportedly anticipating a departure for Mkhitaryan, who has extensively been linked with a free transfer to Inter.

As per the report, the Nerazzurri are currently offering the Armenian an annual salary of €3.5million for a one-year contract plus an option for a further season. It is understood that Inter are on the brink of making their desired swoop for the attacking playmaker.

And therefore, the Roman side has begun their hunt for a suitable replacement, with Mourinho regarding Isco as a prominent candidate to replace the benefits of the 33-year-old. However, the report has denied that Isco will be seen as a Tammy Abraham-esque coup for Mourinho.

But, it will be a free signing as the 30-year-old will leave Los Blancos for free after the expiration of his contract in the Spanish capital this summer.

As far as the contract situation is concerned, Roma are willing to offer the five-time Champions League winner a three-year deal combing a salary package of around €6.5million.

Even though the figure is colossal, it is reported that the Growth Decree, which is a tax discount that allows a club to save 50% on the taxes of the professionals who have worked abroad over the last two years and then move to Italy, will help Roma spend the same amount they would have spent on the services of Mkhitaryan.
