Roma complete signing of Nemanja Matić after Manchester United exit | OneFootball

Roma have announced the arrival of veteran midfielder Nemanja Matić following his departure from Manchester United after five years at the club.

It sees Giallorossi boss José Mourinho reunited with the Serbian for the third time in his career, having also coached him at Old Trafford and Chelsea.

Matić has signed a one-year deal with the reigning Conference League champions.

“I am pleased and honoured to be joining this club and I cannot wait to start the new season with my teammates,” the 33-year-old told the club’s website.

“Roma is a big club, with amazing fans and a coach ho is well known to everyone. It made the decision to come here very straightforward. I hope that by working together we are able to achieve some great things.”

Matić has opted to wear the No. 21 jersey which was most recently worn by Borja Mayoral.
