Roma head coach Jose Mourinho still wants to wish his old side Inter good luck in the Champions League despite losing to them 3-0 in Serie A earlier this evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the Portuguese tactician deserved that Inter had been the better side on the night, and stated that he would support them in their match against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Inter met the coach who guided them to an historic treble for the first time since he left the club in the form of Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach’s confrontation with his former club was inevitable when he returned to Serie A to coach the Giallorossi, and on this occasion it was the Nerazzurri who got the better of the man who once occupied their dugout.

Mourinho had no intention to deny that his team had been outplayed by a very strong Nerazzurri at the Olimpico, stating that “Inter are stronger than us in normal conditions, and in abnormal conditions they are considerably stronger than us.”

“Last year there was a 29-point difference,” he added. “In our situation we had limitations, with the lack of offensive potential we had on the pitch it was important to score goals from the few opportunities they allowed.”

“When you play with a risky defensive organization, you cannot concede goals like the first or the third,” he lamented.

The Portuguese coach also stated that “The referee did well, he did not influence the result, he should have given Cristante a yellow. We are the  team in Serie A with the worst discipline. Congratulations to Inter and good luck for Tuesday’s match.”
