Roma are reportedly one step away from agreeing to a new contract with Serbian goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
The 25-year-old has been involved in discussions with the club to extend his stay in the capital following a convincing second half to the season where he emerged as the Giallorossi’s unexpected first-choice in goal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, aware of the interest the player had drawn in the Premier League, Roma made it a priority to draft a new contract for him which will entail higher wages and a longer term.
The newspaper reports that the two sides are nearing a definitive agreement which could be reached within the coming weeks.
Svilar is expected to start earning roughly €2 million per season as opposed to less than €1 million which he currently makes.
