Roma head coach Daniele De Rossi has made his frustrations with both Romelu Lukaku and Leandro Paredes crystal clear, on the back of his side’s Serie A meeting with Cagliari.

Roma, of course, were back in action late last night, welcoming Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari to the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi headed into proceedings with spirits high in the camp, fresh off a pair of successive victories under the watch of new boss De Rossi.

And, when all was said and done on Monday, Roma made it three on the trot, in some style.

Owing to goals on the part of all of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Paulo Dybala (2), and Dean Huijsen, the evening’s hosts ran out eventual 4-0 victors.

And yet, post-match, headmaster De Rossi remained unsatisfied.

Speaking as part of his media press conference (as cited by Calciomercato), the Italian tactician was drawn on a 2nd-half incident, which saw him lose his cool after Leandro Paredes was booked for his part in a needless scuffle.

This came after De Rossi was also spotted shouting at frontman Romelu Lukaku, for his part in an early coming together with Yerry Mina.

And the ex-Roma enforcer went on to provide an insight into his anger, pleading with his stars to be more ‘intelligent’ moving forward:

“Look, I like it when players try to defend their teammates, but when leading 4-0 they need to be intelligent.”

“We need to clamp down on this sort of behaviour, because getting booked when you are 4-0 up is truly stupid. We cannot afford to lose any of these players.”
