Roma and Juventus are both keeping tabs on Wesley, who has broken out at Flamengo in the last couple of years and is already a regular in the Brazil squad. Both teams are looking for help on the flanks to better adapt to their coaches’ schemes.
According to Sky, Gian Piero Gasperini already wanted the speedster during his time at Atalanta. They signed Raoul Bellanova from Torino instead last summer. The Giallorossi have lost Alexis Saeleamekers and currently have only Devyne Rensch and Zeki Celik, who has often played as a center-back, at the position. They have suddenly decided to fire their sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, but it shouldn’t take them long to find a replacement and be operational again. Frederic Massara is in advanced talks to return following his turns at Milan and Rennes.
Juventus need at least another wingback, like Roma, and Wesley is one of the main names on their radar, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. His price tag amounts to roughly €20M. He scored once and notched 3 assists in 23 matches in 2025 so far.
The 21-year-old has 131 appearances with Flamengo and 2 caps with the Seleçao under his belt.
The capital club has been very deliberate in saying they won’t splurge this summer, although they can cash in on many players to build a decent budget. They might have to pick and choose their reinforcements. This role should be an absolute priority given Gasperini’s style. The Old Lady needs a man too. He would fit well with their reported new strategy, given his age, upside, valuation, and low salary.
