Roma add Cagliari’s Nadir Zortea to transfer shortlist | OneFootball

Roma continue to monitor the market, and one of the names that is emerging strongly to strengthen the right flank is that of Nadir Zortea of Cagliari.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, after a season as a protagonist in Serie A, with six goals scored, Zortea has become one of the targets of Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma, who knows him well having coached him briefly at Atalanta.

Zortea had an important season with Cagliari, demonstrating that he has excellent offensive qualities as well as the ability to give solidity to the defense.

With the Sardinian club he found the continuity that he had lacked in the past, and he showed characteristics that adapt perfectly to Gasperini’s system, who prefers dynamic, attacking football.

Zortea has also stated on several occasions that he has great respect for Gasperini, recognizing how much the coach gave him in terms of teachings during his time at Atalanta, when however he did not find space due to strong competition.

Now Gasperini seems ready to welcome the full-back back into his team. Although Zortea is linked to Cagliari, his season has attracted interest from several clubs, and Roma could try to make a move for him.
