One of América’s biggest issues this offseason has been figuring out how to offload Roger Martínez, who has been frozen out of Miguel Herrera’s squad after demanding a move to Europe.
Though it does not look like Martínez will get his dream move across the continent, it appears he is going to make a switch to another huge club.
According to Mexican sources, the Colombian’s representatives are in Argentina to reportedly finalise a switch to South American giants Boca Juniors.
América had previously received a substantial offer from Major League Soccer for Martínez, though the player voted against a move to the United States.
América, who paid Villarreal €8.5m for the 25-year-old’s services in summer 2018, are aiming to either recoup the full fee or make a profit on the player.
