The América directors have reportedly told both Roger Martínez and Andrés Ibargüen that they will not continue with the club for the 2021 Guard1anes tournament.

Though their first game of the season against Atlético San Luis will take place next Saturday, January 9th, journalist Josh Mendoza claims that the Colombian duo will not be a part of Santiago Solari’s plans.

Mendoza has confirmed this is the reason why the pair have not shown up for training, while Martínez did not even show up for medical exams.

With Peruvian Pedro Aquino expected to arrive from León and Rubén ‘Oso’ González to go the other way, this would give Solari an extra international slot to fill for the upcoming season.

América are reportedly up in arms over the attitudes of the two players on and off the pitch and given their high salaries, América sees the pair as completely expendable.
