Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid has been a subject of speculation this summer.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been approached by several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.
However, he does not want to negotiate with other clubs until he has spoken to Madrid and their new manager Xabi Alonso (h/t The Athletic).
The forward wants two conditions met to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He wants to feel important at the club, having seen his role diminish since Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe arrived.
The Brazilian also prefers playing on the left wing or in a central position, rather than on the right flank.
Alonso may find it difficult to meet his second demand, as he has better options for those positions.
Rodrygo joined Madrid for €45 million and quickly established himself as a regular.
He has scored 68 goals in 267 appearances, helping them win three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies.
However, the Brazil international is unhappy with a depleted role following the signings of Bellingham and Mbappe,
He made only 22 La Liga starts this season under Carlo Ancelotti, regularly sitting on the bench towards the end of the season.
Arsenal are in the market for a new wide player. They admire Rodrygo and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
A deal for either player is expected to cost a fortune, making it unlikely a transfer could materialise.
