Future Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes is targeting first team football upon the completion of his move next summer.
The 17-year-old – who has netted nine times in 32 appearances for Santos this season – will join the European champions in a reported €45m deal.
When asked about compatriot Vinícius Junior and a potential loan move, Rodrygo was adamant that he would fight for his place in the Spanish capital.
“I’m very happy but I’m completely focused on Santos,” Rodrygo told Folha de São Paulo. “I’m not thinking about Real Madrid and I will only do that next year.
“Loan moves are things that I do not think will happen but we have to be very honest about that. My goal is to play first team football.”
The forward became the youngest goalscorer in Santos’ history when he found the net in the Copa Libertadores against Nacional.
