Real Madrid star Rodrygo has provided an insight into his celebratory tribute to club icon Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday night.

Frontman Rodrygo, for his part, turned heads across the continent, a little less than 48 hours ago.

As much came owing to the Brazilian international’s exploits during Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg meeting with Manchester City.

En route to a pulsating 3-3 stalemate with the Premier League champions, Rodrygo netted his side’s 2nd of the night, inside the opening quarter of an hour.

And, in response to his strike, the 23-year-old endeared himself ever further to the Blancos faithful, in recreating the famed ‘siuu’ celebration made famous by Cristiano Ronaldo during the Portuguese’s time in Spain’s capital.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the clash, Rodrygo, in turn, was drawn on precisely what led him to as much.

And, in his response, the gifted attacker went on to reiterate that Ronaldo, simply put, is his ‘hero’:

“Celebrating like Cristiano Ronaldo? I always watch his videos, I watch him before the match too to inspire me, as I always say, he is my role model, he is my hero.”
