The most famous previous owner of the No.16 shirt for the Blues was Sergio Aguero, who took the number from his arrival in 2011 (also from Atleti) until 2015.

The squad number has been vacant ever since.

Prior to Sergio, Kasper Schmeichel, Sylvinho, Nicky Summerbee and Peter Reid have also taken sixteen.

Defenders Paul Ritchie and Vedran Corluka and Nedum Onuoha are the only other City players to have the same number.
