The Spanish forward had made the decision to look for a new team after Leeds United were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.
Although several La Liga clubs, including Europa League champions Sevilla, have shown interest in the former Valencia player, he has decided to move to Qatari side Al Rayyan
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is already an agreement between the Spanish player and the Qatari club, where he will sign a deal until 2026.
Radio Marca report that the player had received some interesting offers to stay in the Premier League, but his father received the offer from Qatar and they have decided to accept it.
At Al Rayyan, he will have Thiago Mendes and Sofian Boufal as team-mates and the coach of the Qatari side where James Rodríguez played is former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim.
