Rodrigo Caio is expected to make his return to the Flamengo line-up in Monday’s Campeonato Carioca clash at Madureira.
The central defender has been recovering from a thigh injury sustained on the final day of last season’s Brasileirão in late February.
However, the 27-year-old took a full part in training on Saturday as Rogerio Ceni’s side prepare to travel east to the Estádio Raulino de Oliveira.
Caio could come in at the expense of Gustavo Henrique and form a partnership with Bruno Viana.
Flamengo are currently top of the Carioca table, level on points with Volta Redonda but with a superior goal difference.
Madureira, who are five points off the pace, are occupying the fourth and final play-off spot.
