Meanwhile, Aitana Bonmatí has been crowned Women's Ballon d'Or winner for the second consecutive year after helping her side to a historic quadruple and her nation to success in the Nations League.

The Yashin Trophy went to Aston Villa and Argentina shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez, who claimed it for the second consecutive season after lifting it in 2023.

The Kopa Trophy was unsurprisingly scooped by Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, who helped Spain lift the EURO 2024 trophy over the summer.

Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé shared the Gerd Müller Award after finishing the season on 52 goals apiece, while the Socrates Prize.went to Jennifer Hermoso for her work in Women's football.

In an ironic twist of fate, absent club Real Madrid were named Club of the Year, and Barcelona Femini were named the women's Club of the Year.
