Rodolfo Pizarro: Chivas will either make or break your career
Former Chivas midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro, now with MLS outfit Inter Miami FC, shared his thoughts on what it meant to play for Chivas as opposed to any other football club.
In an interview on ESPN show Ahora o Nunca, Pizarro offered some insight on why Chivas can make or break a player’s career.
“Chivas, like América, represent a lot in Mexican football.
“You get a lot of attention and you feel the pressure. It is completely different to be there at Chivas, for better or for worse.
“It can sink your career because you do not know how to handle the pressure or it can catapult you to be an idol.
“I was at Pachuca and if you scored two goals, nobody paid attention to you.
“At Chivas, if you score two goals in a row, you were already a hero. The same treatment applies to the national team: it is easier to get called up playing in Chivas.”
The 26-year-old Pizarro broke the Liga MX inter-league transfer record twice, both upon his arrival from Pachuca and his departure to Rayados.
