Paul Robinson has tipped superstar duo Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli to leave Tottenham this transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Spurs goalkeeper believes the high profile pair could be a victim of the club’s “unbalanced” squad.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho told talkSPORT after Sunday’s 5-2 win at Southampton that he has “too many players in the squad”.

Alli didn’t even make the bench for Spurs’ first win of the season while Ndombele was dragged off at half time with the score at 1-1.

Asked by Football Insider whether he was surprised to see Ndombele substituted so early, Robinson said: “He doesn’t complete enough games.

“There’s always been something there between the relationship with him and the manager. You can’t tell if the manager likes him or not.

“There was talk when he first came in that he can’t play two games a week, he’s not fit enough. Then during the first couple of weeks of lockdown, you see them together doing little bits of personal training in the park together.

“When you look at that you can see that the manager thinks there’s a real player in there and he’s trying to get it out of him with coaching.

“If a player gets dragged at half-time, it’s not good for anybody. If it’s a tactical change you’d like to think a player can adapt to a new system in the second half because it’s not going to be that different.

“Ndombele can play as a holding midfielder or an attacking midfielder, he can play anywhere.

“It’s not good as a player to be dragged at half-time.

“The size of the squad he’s got there, it’s unbalanced, they’re heavily ladened with midfielders and attacking midfielders so to play Ndombele and pull him off at half-time and Dele Alli to not be in the squad I think we’re going to see a lot of changes at Spurs between now and the end of the window.

”I expect they may go.”
