Robin Gosens Signing Does Not Mean Ivan Perisic Won’t Extend Inter Contract, Alfredo Pedullà Reports

Inter could still extend the contract of Ivan Perisic even though they are set to sign a long-term successor for him in the form of Atalanta’s Robin Gosens.
This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported on air that the Nerazzurri will still attempt to agree a new deal with the Croat although it is less of a priority now that they have Gosens secured.
Perisic’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June, and an agreement on a new deal still looks to be some way away.
The club have been working throughout the January transfer window to sign a player who can back up the 32-year-old, but also to take over for him in the long term.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic had been a possibility, but the Nerazzurri’s real priority had been Gosens, whose signing they should wrap up tomorrow when he completes his medicals.
The club are less stressed to find an agreement with Perisic now, but they will still hold talks with the wing-back starting next month, and the decision will be up to the player.
