Italy manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed he will step down from his role after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Mancini was appointed in 2018 and succeeded in turning their fortunes around, qualifying for Euro 2020 with 10 wins out of 10 in the group stage.
But the 56-year-old is hoping to return to club management and even suggested three names that could replace him.
“I will no longer be the coach of the national team after the World Cup in Qatar 2022,” he told Tiki Taka.
“I will return to coaching a club, but there are many coaches who can replace me.
“Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti and Gian Piero Gasperini for example, they could all coach the national team.”
Mancini currently boasts a 66% win percentage in charge of the Azzurri – the highest of any manager since 1948.
