The 33-year-old’s current deal doesn’t expire until June 2023 but it is being reported by SPORT he made the decision to move to Spain ‘months ago’.

There has been speculation over Lewandowski’s future for months with consistent reports in Germany stating that the club and player had yet to come to an agreement over new terms.

If these reports are to believed it appears that the striker is seeking a new challenge after eight years in Munich.

There has been no confirmation from Bayern over the current state of talks with Lewandowski at this point.
