Robert Lewandowski’s former agent has revealed that the Bayern Munich striker rejected moves to the Premier League and Paris Saint-Germain in the past.
Lewandowski was, around 2014, the most sought-after goalscorer in European football and had been linked to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG.
It was Real Madrid who always looked like a potential destination for the Poland international but that opportunity now seems to have passed.
And Cezary Kucharski, who represented the striker until last year, has lifted the lid on some of the offers that came his way during their working relationship.
“Robert was alway open to various clubs,” he told Pilka Nozna.
“But a move to France did not suit his wife and neither of them wanted to go to England.
“For him, there was only one place: sunny Spain – Real Madrid.
“I must admit, we fought for the move. But it was risky and it wasn’t 100 per cent certain that Real would bid because of certain things.
“So in the end we did not want to risk it.”
Lewandowski has been with Bayern for five years, scoring over 150 goals.
