Robert Lewandowski has reportedly agreed a contact extension at Bayern Munich that would keep him at the club until 2023.

Lewandowski recently joined Claudio Pizarro as the foreigner with the most goals in Bundesliga history, and the 195-goal man looks like he will be adding plenty more with this latest news.

Sport Bild have published a story on Wednesday that claims the player and Bayern have come to an agreement over a new deal.

The Polish goalscorer’s current contract runs until 2021 but both parties are keen to keep the relationship going and have agreed a two-year extension.

Reports last year had suggested that the 30-year-old was looking to leave the Allianz Arena, but those have now been put to bed, with the striker ready to see out his career in Bavaria.

The contract offer is also thought to be seen as a way of keeping Lewandowski happy despite the arrival of Timo Werner in the summer.

Although that particular deal has not been confirmed it’s expected that the 23-year-old will sign for Bayern over the summer.

Niko Kovac and the hierarchy though, are keen for Werner to not be seen as a replacement for Lewandowski and want the Pole to act as a mentor to the Germany international.
