“I want to play football at the top level for a longer time. My contract with FC Bayern is still two years, but I think you can think about it,” he said.

The 32-year-old could return from injury when Bayern take on Mainz this weekend and with another Bundesliga title and Golden Boot in his sights, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

And that’s why he also says he hopes to play on for at least another five years.

“I haven’t really thought about what will happen in three or four years,” he added.
