Twelve of those goals have come in Bundesliga action, with Lewandowski notching yet another brace in Bayern's 5-2 victory away at Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon.

One of the 33-year-old's strikes was a fantastic free-kick, which further highlights what a complete footballer he is these days.

And during the early stages of the match, Lewandowski also reminded the world that playmaking is now a forte of his.

Poland's all-time leading scorer came agonisingly close to producing the most outrageous assist of 2021 so far, but Leroy Sane just couldn't take full advantage of his teammate's brilliance.

Lewandowski controlled the ball perfectly on the edge of the Union Berlin box, spun 180 degrees twice while juggling it and then played an inch-perfect through-ball into Sane's path.

Oh and the pass was played over his shoulder on the volley, just to make the whole even more magical.

We're running out of superlatives to describe Lewandowski.

Had Sane scored - which he really should have given the relative easiness of the chance - Bayern's talisman would be responsible for one of the finest assists in recent times.

Sadly, we have to make do with it being simply a magnificent chance created for a teammate, which doesn't really have the same ring to it.

Julian Nagelsmann's team continue their league campaign next Saturday when they host high-flying Freiburg in Munich.

That'll be a mighty tough game for Bayern, but with Lewandowski in the form of his life, you'd be a fool to bet against a home win.
