“Bon dia, moltes gracies,” Lewandowski said in Catalan, before going on to add: “My name is Robert, I’m from Poland, I live in Barcelona,” in Spanish.

“I am very happy to be here,” the striker continued. “It has been hard to get it done but it was in the end, we have a lot of work to do.

“I want to be part of this great club and this impressive story. I want to make a new story and win titles. The last few days haven’t been easy but I’m ready to be part of the team, come to training and hope to play in the coming games.”

The signing of Lewandowski is a huge statement of intent from Barcelona ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Since he signed for Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, no player has scored more goals – yes, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lewandowski is the definition of world-class and is arguably in the best form of his career at the age of 33.

Poland’s record scorer is far more than just a finisher as well. He’s the complete package, a striker who is an absolute nightmare to come up against.

Lewandowski is tall, powerful, deceptively quick and incredibly skilful – something he showcased to the world during a Bundesliga match against Schalke in September of 2020.

In an 8-0 thumping of the team from Germany’s Ruhr region, Barcelona’s newest recruit produced an insane rabona assist for his former partner-in-crime Thomas Muller.

It was so good that Alphonso Davies on the Bayern bench simply had to stand up and applaud…

Genius, pure genius from one of the greatest strikers in history. The man can do it all and defenders in La Liga are going to find that out the hard way.

Barcelona’s forward line for the 2022/23 season looks pretty terrifying following the additions of Lewandowski and Raphinha this summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, Ousmane Dembele, Memphis Depay are the other highly-talented options manager Xavi Hernandez currently has to pick from when creating his front three.

Lewandowski was in the stands for Barcelona’s most recent pre-season friendly, a 6-0 victory over Inter Miami, but could make his debut against Real Madrid on July 24th.
