After a damaging defeat at Tottenham on Sunday, Manchester City made headline news on Monday when the Premier League charged them for ‘a number of alleged breaches’ of financial rules.

Now the Blues must turn their attention to returning to form when they welcome Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 12 February at 16:30 (GMT), a match that will be televised on Sky Sports in the UK.

His last match in charge in the top flight came last weekend when he distributed six yellow cards in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Leeds at the City Ground.

The Englishman has only been in charge of one City match in the league this season. That came in a 1-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s side away at Leicester City back in October, where no bookings were awarded, despite ten fouls being committed.

However, he did oversee the Blues’ 4-0 FA Cup win over Chelsea last month, a match which saw the referee award two spot kicks in City’s favour and four yellow cards.
