Arsenal defender Rob Holding wants his side to win all five of their remaining five games in the Premier League this season.

He urged the Gunners to stay in the title race by securing maximum points from their final games.

Arsenal drew three consecutive games against West Ham United, Liverpool and Southampton, allowing Manchester City to close the gap at the top of the table.

City then took advantage, beating Arsenal and Fulham to climb back to the top of the table while playing a game less.

The Cityzens have the advantage in the title race, but Holding wants his side to keep pushing.

He said (via the official Arsenal website): “We’ve got five games to go now, and we have to worry about what we can control, which are those five games.

“If we get maximum points, what will happen in the other games elsewhere will happen. We will see where we are at the other end of the season.

“We have secured qualification for the Champions League next year, which was one of the big goals at the start of the year, so that is a positive to take, but we’ve still got five games left.

“If we can get 15 points from them, we will see where it leaves us at the end of the season.”

Any plans Arsenal have for getting maximum points will start tonight. They welcome Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium for their Premier League clash.

They will hope to put their recent disappointments behind them against their London rivals.

The Blues are winless in their last five since the appointment of interim manager Frank Lampard.

However, Holding, like Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, warned that they should not take Chelsea for granted.

Holding said Chelsea’s large squad and unpredictability could surprise them and urged his side to be ready.
